Pepsi Grant Challenge
Rock Creek offered pro bono support to Herndon, Virginia's Clearview Elementary school by producing a short 60-second video shot by Tim Phillips with Rock Creek's Steadicam and edited by Jake Mosholder describing the challenges of teaching in an "open" school design and making the case for Pepsi Grant funding to help "build doors and open minds" for the school.  Built in the 1970s when teaching approaches were different, Clearview classrooms open onto central pods which make noise difficult to control and concentration on learning difficult.  We urge you to visit http://www.refresheverything.com/clearviewdoors and vote for Clearview!  Thanks!

pentagon-policePentagon Force Protection Agency Contract
May 1, 2011 -- Rock Creek Productions, Inc., in partnership with George T. Brown Associates, Inc., a service disabled veteran owned company, is proud to announce that we have been awarded a contract to produce a public information video and a more dramatic day-in-the-life "teaser" video on the critical mission the Pentagon's Force Protection Agency has in securing the Pentagon, the Navy Annex, and other DoD related facilities.  Production is starting immediately.

Rock Creek recently produced a video for Deer Industry New Zealand featuring celebrated and nationally recognized Chef Todd Gray, owner of Equinox restaurant and the recently opened Watershed restaurant.  New Zealand is known, among many things, for their humanely and sustainably raised venison which is branded with the appellation Cervena.  Chef Gray was the Cervena ambassador back in the 1990’s and continues to promote and serve Cervena venison on his menu.  The Rock Creek team spent a day at Equinox interviewing Chef Gray, getting a tour of his kitchen, meeting his staff and learning about Cervena venison. The video will be shown at New Zealand’s annual Deer Industry conference later in May.

Rock Creek recently completed a live web telecast for our friends at the Humane Alliance.  The Humane Alliance and its National Spay/Neuter Response Team, along with the help of PetSmart Charities, are spreading the good word about responsible pet ownership and working to reduce pet and pet shelter overpopulation through sterilization.

On April 1, 2011 they held their annual SNIP Summit at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. The conference was attended by over 800 spay/neuter professionals from clinics across the U.S.  Rock Creek supported them by creating a video for the opening of the summit as well as streaming a live spay surgery to one of the conferences keynote sessions.

To maximize production values for the surgery, we mounted our Panasonic HPX-500 on our EZFX jib with a remote head and positioned it directly over the operating table, emulating the surgeon's point-of-view.  We then plugged the camera directly into a laptop via Firewire and upcast to an HD streaming site -- couldn't have been easier! The shoot was a success and the audience was enthralled by the clarity of the live image.

Rock Creek also supports the Humane Alliance's Spay/Neuter Continuing Education and Training objectives by producing a series of educational videos on subjects such as Pediatric Spay/Neuter and Large Dog Spay.  Check out our videos on the Humane Alliance's website.

The 2010 Government Expo was a huge success.  This was Rock Creek Productions' first year participating as an exhibitor at the expo and we would like to thank everyone who stopped by our booth to learn more about our production services and GSA projects.  This year’s booth had an "on-location production" theme with customized movie posters of our government projects, along with lights, cameras, and a flat screen monitor showcasing our recent work.

An overwhelming number of business cards were submitted for the FlipCam contest.  The winner has been selected and we would like to congratulate Cedric L. from the National Museum of American History.  Cedric will receive his Rock Creek Productions personalized FlipCam just in time to capture all of his favorite holiday moments.
